Eastern Economic Forum’s ‘Far East Street’ exhibition to open with flashmob celebrating Far Eastern Federal District regions

Выставку «Улица Дальнего Востока» в рамках ВЭФ откроет флешмоб в честь регионов ДФО

The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition, which is set to take place as part of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024 in Vladivostok on 3–8 September, will open with a flashmob called “Time to Live in the Far East”. The event has been organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.

The flashmob will take place on 3 September on the exhibition’s main stage. Guests will be treated to a live rendition of the song “The Far East”, the lyrics to which were written by poet and songwriter, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Ilya Reznik. The flashmob participants will bring the flags of the Far Eastern Federal District regions to the stage, where they will also unfurl a large Russian tricolour.

“Unique support measures have been set up for the Far Eastern Federal District: priority development areas have been identified; the Free Port of Vladivostok has been established; a preferential regime has been introduced in the Kuril Islands; and special mortgages and the Law on the Far Eastern Hectare have been introduced. Many of these have found applications in other regions of Russia too. A total of 824 enterprises have launched operations. Investments into the district have reached 4 trillion roubles. Approximately 140,000 jobs have been created, providing opportunities for seasoned professionals, as well as for those who are just setting off on their career paths. And economic growth has the knock-on effect of making the Far East a more important part of the country’s economy, directly impacting our common future. I truly believe that the main deliverable of any economic activity should be the improved wellbeing and quality of life of the people,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.

The Eastern Economic Forum 2024 will take place on 3–6 September at the campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. During these days, the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will be open to Forum participants, and on 7–8 September it will be open to everyone. The EEF is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
