The India Day festival will take place in Moscow this weekend

The traditional India Day festival will be held in the Dream Island Landscape Park on 15–18 August and will introduce guests to the diversity of Indian culture from yoga to Bollywood. Visitors will enjoy themed zones and activities for all ages under the slogan ‘The Year of the Family: Celebrating Connections that Matter’. The festival, held in partnership with the Indian Business Alliance, is organized by the Sita Indian Cultural and National Centre.

We are delighted that Moscow will once again be the venue for the 9th edition of the India Day Festival. This event continues our joint work to develop cultural and business ties between our countries,” noted Alexander Stuglev, Chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation. 

The India Day festival has long been a significant platform for meeting representatives of business, culture and society of both countries. This year we expect even more participants, which will allow us to gain a deeper understanding of India's rich culture, strengthen business ties and discuss prospects for further cooperation.

This annual festival not only celebrates India’s Independence Day but also symbolizes 78 years of diplomatic relations between our countries. This year the central theme of the festival will be family, as 2024 has been declared the Year of Family in Russia. This time we plan to expand the programme of the festival, introducing Moscow residents and guests to the rich history of India, which will be a special contribution to the development of cultural exchange between our countries. The festival has a social dimension, so all programmes are completely free and suitable for people of all ages,” emphasized Sammy Kotwani, founder of the India Day festival, President of the Sita Indian Cultural and National Centre, President of the Indian Business Alliance.

The programme of the 9th India Day festival will please both fans of the annual celebration and those who will join the festival for the first time: thematic zones of chess, wedding, Holi, mehndi, astrology, Veda Weekend, Relax zone (Yoga and meditation), Bhakti Land zone, Indian fair, main stage and many others will help visitors enjoy this rich event. The official opening of the festival will take place on 15 August.
