With the Roscongress Foundation’s support, the Kherson Region is ready to showcase its investment potential at SPIEF

При поддержке Фонда Херсонская область готова представить инвестиционный потенциал региона на ПМЭФ

The Roscongress Foundation held a meeting with the leadership of the Kherson Region to discuss the development of the region’s congress and exhibition activities, as well as its participation in key Foundation events, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Participants included Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, and Vladimir Bodelan, Deputy Governor of the Kherson Region and Head of Kherson Region’s Permanent Mission to the Government of the Russian Federation.

Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, stressed that, in the current geopolitical environment, congress and exhibition activities remain key drivers of economic growth and business tourism across Russia’s regions. The Foundation’s experience in organizing large-scale business events enables it to effectively showcase the full range of regional capabilities.

“The Roscongress Foundation considers engagement with the regions of the Russian Federation a key priority. Our primary goal is to promote their investment, export, tourism, and cultural potential, while also attracting development support measures that reflect each region’s socioeconomic priorities. To achieve this, we work to actively involve regional partners in congress and exhibition activities,” Alexander Stuglev said.

The participants discussed steps to promote the Kherson Region’s investment potential as part of its Regional Development Master Plan. Particular attention was given to its participation in SPIEF 2025, scheduled to take place on 18–21 June. The Forum is expected to provide a platform for showcasing the Kherson Region’s unique advantages, including access to the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, as well as the federal tax incentives available within its free economic zone.

“The participation of the Kherson Region in business events, especially in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, opens up new prospects for integration into Russia’s economic and legal space. This is an important step that makes it possible to present the investment potential of the Kherson Region to a wide audience, establish useful business connections, and attract the resources needed for development. Such opportunities inspire confidence in the successful implementation of strategic projects, contributing to sustainable growth and improving the quality of life in the region,” said Vladimir Bodelan, Deputy Governor of the Kherson Region and Head of Kherson Region’s Permanent Mission to the Government of the Russian Federation.

A key opportunity to promote the region’s assets will be its vibrant and substantive presence within SPIEF’s unique exhibition space, the exposition of Russian regions. Here, the Kherson Region will present its development strategy, highlighting the strengths of its core economic sectors and the business support measures in place. In addition, the SPIEF Governors’ Club traditionally serves as another important venue within the Forum’s structure, designed for business negotiations, informal meetings, and showcasing the investment potential of Russia’s regions. Each year, the Club is attended by regional governors, presidential envoys, and senior federal officials.

The participants also reviewed the outcomes of the first Tavria Investment and Economic Forum (TIEF), held in Genichesk in November 2024. The event marked the first platform in the history of the reunited regions to showcase the Kherson Region’s investment potential, hospitality industry, and economic advantages. Both sides noted the forum’s strong potential to boost the regional economy and expressed their readiness to cooperate on organizing a second TIEF, with expert support from the Roscongress Foundation.

The meeting concluded with an agreement on long-term cooperation aimed at implementing the region’s strategic projects and increasing the Kherson Region’s business activity through participation in events organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
