Roscongress Foundation team places in El Gouna Half Marathon

The Roscongress Foundation team enjoyed a good showing at the half marathon in El Gouna, Egypt, with Deputy Director of the Eastern Economic Forum Maya Semenova placing third in her half marathon group and Administrative Directorate specialist Anna Gudovskikh taking third in the 5K. More than five thousand participants from 35 countries took part in the race, with Russian participation at the international event organized by the Roscongress Foundation sports platform RC Sport.

“Sports are an important part of our biggest forums and no less important to the big Roscongress Foundation team that makes the forums happen. We are dedicated to the well-rounded development of our employees and give them every opportunity to take part in corporate and individual events in competitions at home and abroad. I believe the will to succeed, determination, and self-confidence are qualities shared by good athletes and talented event organizers. We have been blessed with a team of real athletes who make Russia’s most important business events happen,” Chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev said.

The El Gouna Half Marathon, which consists of a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and 1K for children aged 5 to 10, attracts participants each year from all over the world. The event is organized under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports under the technical supervision of the Egyptian Athletic Federation, which ensures strict adherence to the international standards governing the world’s major races.

The Roscongress Foundation team looked to the results of this year’s sports season before finalizing participation in the marathon. Roscongress staff took part in some 20 events this year, including ZaBeg.RF, the Moscow Marathon, the Race of Heroes, the La Strada cycling race, the Vedomosti sailing regatta, and the Iron Star triathlon. In October, Roscongress Partner Relations Head Katerina Yakobchak completed the Ironman 70.3 Oman. Roscongress employees also receive training in billiards.
