SPIEF 2024 Official Magazine Published

On the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Roscongress Foundation published the official magazine of the event. The publication is distributed at the SPIEF venue, on Aeroflot flights and on Russian Railways’ Sapsan trains on the Moscow–St. Petersburg–Moscow route. The electronic version is available on the Forum and Roscongress Foundation websites

The centrepiece of the issue, ‘Th Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World’, echoes the main theme of the Forum. The article deals with global political and economic changes and Russia’s role in these processes. The article emphasizes the growing influence of the BRICS bloc, which in 2024 – the year of Russia’s presidency – has doubled the number of member states and, in fact, is today the only and non-alternative candidate for the role of a transitional structure to a multipolar world.

A separate article is devoted to Oman, the guest country of SPIEF 2024, with which relations promise the greatest prospects.

A real jewel of the magazine is an exclusive interview with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in which he discusses the Christian principles in economics, attitude to wealth and patronage, and Orthodox corporate culture.

Another interview in this issue about creative search and contemporary music belongs to rock legend Vyacheslav Butusov, whose concert on 7 June on Palace Square will be the culminating event of the St. Petersburg Seasons Festival of Culture at SPIEF 2024. 

Readers of the magazine will also learn about how new national projects are being implemented, where cities of the future will be built in Russia, how the largest enterprise of the Russian car industry feels and what’s new in the country’s film industry.

Special attention was paid to the topic of high technology development, in particular to the new objectives of the Innovation Space, a project of the Roscongress Foundation in the field of science, technology and venture capital investment. Other thematic platforms of the Roscongress Foundation at SPIEF were also covered. These included the Healthy Life Area, VinoGrad, Social Platform, SPIEF Academy, and Junior Point.

Traditionally, a large section is devoted to St. Petersburg as the host city. What places did Alexander Pushkin, whose 255th anniversary is being celebrated this year, like to visit? What restaurants are worth visiting and what should one try? Finally, where should one go in the vicinity of St. Petersburg to admire the beauty of the Russian North?

The final part of the issue contains useful information for Forum participants about the venue, business, cultural, sports and entertainment programmes.
