A review of McKinsey’s COVID-19: Implications for business research has been published on the Anticrisis Plan. Global Best Practices portal of the Roscongress Foundation and in the ROSCONGRESS.ORG Information and Analytical System.

Analysts of the world’s largest consulting company have presented the third edition of their report on how the pandemic is impacting our planet’s future. Experts describe the key factors defining the spread of the virus and the fight against it.

According to analysts, the number of confirmed cases in a particular country correlates with the timeliness and efficiency of healthcare measures. During the period from 27 March to 2 April, 90% of all new cases emerged in the US and Europe. McKinsey experts are certain that continuous comprehensive efforts aimed at virus containment and development of epidemiological surveillance system are the key factors for inhibiting the pandemic expansion.

In particular, the forecast implies two possible scenarios depending on the efficiency of the measures implemented by governments. According to the optimistic outcome, a dramatic recession of one or two quarters will be followed by a fast recovery. According to the pessimistic one, the pandemic will stop the global economy for several months or even quarters and/or will be followed by a second wave after lockdown measures have been relaxed.

Speaking of what global business community can do to cope with this crisis, analysts urge them to act in the framework of five new key dimensions: Resolve, Resilience, Return, Reimagination, and Reform. The Anticrisis Plan. Global Best Practices portal was initiated by the Roscongress Foundation with the aim of consolidating implemented measures to support business and citizens during the spread of the coronavirus, as well plans for economic recovery after the pandemic is over. As part of the project, we provide daily releases on measures taken on national and regional levels both in Russia and abroad, as well as notable business best practices and citizens’ initiatives.
