General Information

The Kemerovo Region (Kuzbass) is located in the south-east of Western Siberia.

Russia is the third largest supplier of coal on the world market (after Indonesia and Australia), and the Kuzbass share in these supplies is almost 90 percent.

Metallurgy is the second basic branch of Kuzbass. The region accounts for 63 percent of mainline and 100 percent of tram rails, more than 60 percent of ferrosilicon, 14 percent of steel and rolled ferrous metals of all-Russian production. Ski tourism, a new industry for Kuzbass, is actively developing.

The strategic directions of the social and economic development of the Kemerovo region are the provision of economic growth and the development of human capital.

The factors of investment attractiveness of the region include:

— high labor potential (16th place among the regions of Russia and 3rd place among the regions of the Siberian Federal District in terms of population);
— favorable investment climate (Regional legislation is focused on the investor);
— availability of 4 territories of advanced socio-economic development;
— developed transport and logistics infrastructure (2 international airports, large length and density of railway tracks);
— high economic potential (1st place among the regions in terms of diversity and development of minerals, the third largest energy system in the SFD, the largest metallurgical and chemical complex in the Russian Federation).

Description of the regional economy

В структуре валового регионального продукта в 2022 г. основными видами экономической деятельности являлись: добыча полезных ископаемых – 41,8%; обрабатывающие производства – 10,9; торговля оптовая и розничная; ремонт автотранспортных средств и мотоциклов – 9,6; деятельность по операциям с недвижимым имуществом – 6,7; транспортиров- ка и хранение – 5,6%.

В объеме инвестиций в основной капитал 76,3% заняли собственные средства, 23,7% – привлеченные средства. Объем финансовых вложений, поступивших в экономику области, составил 2 635 710 млн ₽.

Индекс промышленного производства по сравнению с 2022 г. составил 98,7%, по видам экономической деятельности

«Добыча полезных ископаемых» – 99,0, «Обрабатывающие производства» – 102,2, «Обеспечение электрической энергией, газом и паром; кондиционирование воздуха» – 96,9, «Водоснабжение; водоотведение, организация сбора и утилизации отходов, деятельность по ликвидации загрязнений» – 72,2%. В объеме отгруженных товаров собственного производства, выполненных работ и услуг собственными силами по добыче полезных ископаемых область занимает 4 место в России (в федеральном округе – 1), по обрабатывающим производствам – 24 (3), по обеспечению электрической энергией, газом и паром; кондиционированию воздуха – 19 (3), по водоснабжению; водоотведению, организации сбора и утилизации отходов, деятельности по ликвидации загрязнений – 5 (1).

На долю области приходится почти половина добычи угля в стране, свыше половины профилей рельсовых для железных дорог и трамвайных путей стальные, значительная часть производства готового проката черных металлов, стали.

Ведущие направления сельского хозяйства: мясомолочное животноводство, птицеводство, пчеловодство, выращивание зерновых, кормовых культур и картофеля.

Оборот розничной торговли составил 596,6 млрд ₽., или 110,7% (в сопоставимых ценах) к 2022 г. По уровню оборота розничной торговли на душу населения область заняла 73 место в Российской Федерации. В структуре оборота розничной торговли удельный вес пищевых продуктов, включая напитки, и табачных изделий составил 45,0%, непродовольственных товаров – 55,0%.

Оборот общественного питания составил 30,9 млрд ₽., или 102,3% (в сопоставимых ценах) к 2022 г.

Сальдированный финансовый результат (прибыль минус убыток) деятельности организаций составил 360 293 млн ₽.
