The Novosibirsk region is located in the south-east of the West Siberian Plain and is one of the largest economic centers of Eurasia.

The structure of the economy of the Novosibirsk region is characterized by a high degree of diversification and significant innovation potential. The engines of the region’s economic growth are industrial production based on high-tech developments, the construction industry and the real estate market, science, transport and logistics, communications and information technology.

In Novosibirsk, the largest railway, automobile, aviation and river routes intersect, connecting Siberia, the Far East, Central Asia, China, Mongolia, with the European regions of Russia.

In accordance with the Development Strategy, in 2030, the Novosibirsk Region will become a significant international innovation hub, a center of competence in the field of the «„new economy“», including the creation and implementation of digital services for citizens and organizations based on regional technologies and solutions, as well as an exporter of competitive products and services in high-tech, knowledge-intensive industries and spheres. It will strengthen its leadership in the fields of science, education, culture, medicine, transport and logistics, wholesale trade and business development.

The Strategy provides for the implementation of the following priorities:

• development of human capital and the social sphere;
• development of a competitive economy with a high level of entrepreneurial activity and competition;
• creating a modern and safe environment for life, transforming the cities and towns of the Novosibirsk region.
