The study analyzes the impact of infrastructure on competitiveness and sustainable development. Problematic issues of infrastructure development in the world are identified, and the current situation with infrastructure gap is portrayed. Considering high importance of private investment for the development of infrastructure complex, development of public-private partnerships in Russia was analyzed, necessary conditions for better utilization of its potential were identified.

The call of economic growth and economic development requires diversification of different types of fuel used in car industry, marine and railway transportations. By the volume of stocks, maturity of technology, influence on ecology, self-cost for final customers gas fuel has a lot of advantages in front of hydrogen fuel and electrical engines and gas fuels can be most demanded fuel for the nearest decade. Low cost can be the basis for economic growth compensating growing cost of petrol and diesel fuel. Additional positive effect is safety for ecology. Major problems the industry of gas fuel encounters are in poor infrastructure, insufficient legislation and high cost of gas engines. Future development of gas fuel industry is only possible with state-based subsidiaries with priority to development of infrastructure.

The article in the framework of the national project «Digital Economy» analyzes the development trends and features of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Russia. The advantages of this sphere of economic activity in comparison with the use of other «breakthrough» technologies are considered. Attention is focused on the features of the third wave of business process transformation associated with adaptive business processes, which allow, using AI, to radically transform a business by processing big data in real time instead of performing a predetermined sequence of steps.
The article provides an overview of the events of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum from the point of view of experts working at the Forum from St. Petersburg State University of Economics. Particularly important and interesting venues of the Forum were highlighted, an expert opinion on the most pressing problems of the modern economy was presented, and ways of cooperation between the university and the Roscongress Foundation were outlined.
