The Chechen Republic is located on the northern slope of the Great Caucasus Mountain Range and the adjacent Chechen Plain and the Tersko-Kum Lowland. It borders on the Republic of Georgia to the south, the Republic of Dagestan to the southeast, east and northeast, the Stavropol Territory to the northwest, and the Ingush Republic to the west.

There are oil and gas fields. Construction materials are represented by deposits of clay, loam, sandy loam, sandstone, sand for construction work, sand and gravel deposits, limestone.

The Baku-Rostov railway and automobile routes pass through the territory, as well as the Baku-Novorossiysk oil trunk pipeline.

By the richness and significance of historical and cultural monuments, by the beauty of its nature, the Chechen Republic is one of the most interesting territories of Russia, worthy of the attention of curious and active people. Having a huge tourist and recreational potential, the Chechen Republic has all the necessary conditions for the development of tourism: natural factors, recreation centers, natural monuments, monuments of archeology and ethnography, monuments of early and medieval architecture, military-historical objects, museum complexes, etc. In the republic, 333 historical and cultural monuments, including more than 100 objects of federal significance, are under state protection. This is a rich potential for the development of various types of sightseeing and educational, sports and recreation, historical and cultural and mixed tourism, which can largely meet the diverse needs of tourists.

Today in the Chechen Republic has already implemented several ambitious investment projects in the tourism sector: in the Itum-Kale district is building a year-round ski resort «Veduchi», in the Vedeno district built the sports and tourist complex «„on one of them“», and in Grozny, the full swing of work on the implementation of the ambitious project «Grozny sea», to represent a complex of recreation and entertainment.

The main contribution to the formation of the gross regional product and ensuring its growth is made by such economic activities as mining, manufacturing, construction, trade, transport and communications.

The main specialization of agriculture in state organizations is crop production, high-tech processing industries and animal husbandry have great prospects.
